Plate|Louis Vincent

At first glance, Plate by Louis Vincent defies material expectations. Hand-turned on a lathe to an extraordinary thinness, the piece creates the illusion of ceramic or stoneware, yet it is crafted entirely from wood.

This refined lightness contrasts beautifully with its surface, which is treated with clay sourced from London construction sites and finished with a natural lacquer.

The result is a rich, earthy texture that evokes the visual weight of traditional ceramics while remaining strikingly delicate. Inspired by the forms of British studio ceramicists, Louis Vincent reinterprets these references through wood, pushing the boundaries of material perception and craftsmanship.
